Before You Begin
Ensure that you've enabled IMAP/POP access in your CodaMail account settings before starting this setup process.
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Open Apple Mail Settings
- Open the Mail app on your Mac
- Click "Mail" in the top menu bar
- Select "Settings" (or "Preferences" in older versions)
- Click the "Accounts" tab
- Click the "+" button to add a new account
Step 2: Initial Account Setup
- Select "Other Mail Account" from the list of options
- Click "Continue"
- Enter your:
- Name (as you want it to appear in messages)
- Email address (your full CodaMail address)
- Password
- Click "Sign In"
Step 3: Configure Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)
- Account Type: Select "IMAP"
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.pnsh.com
- Username: Your account name only (do not include @codamail.com)
- Password: Your email password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL: Yes (checked)
Step 4: Configure Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.pnsh.com
- Username: Your account name only (do not include @codamail.com)
- Password: Your email password
- Port: 465
- Use SSL: Yes (checked)
- Authentication: Password
Step 5: Complete Setup
- Click "Sign In" or "Create" to complete the setup
- Select which apps you want to use with this account (Mail should be checked)
- Click "Done"
Advanced Settings
To verify or adjust advanced settings after setup:
- Go back to Mail Settings > Accounts
- Select your CodaMail account
- Click "Server Settings" or "Advanced"
- Verify that:
- SSL is enabled for both incoming and outgoing servers
- Authentication is set to "Password" for both servers
- Ports are correctly set (993 for IMAP, 465 for SMTP)
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues during setup:
- Verify that IMAP/POP access is enabled in your CodaMail account settings
- Double-check that your username is entered without @codamail.com
- Ensure SSL/TLS is enabled for both incoming and outgoing servers
- Verify that you're using the correct ports (993 for IMAP, 465 for SMTP)
