Overview

CodaMail lets you tune how tightly your webmail interface is packed. Two independent settings put you in control: List Density adjusts the row spacing and text size across your lists, and Toolbar Size controls the size of the buttons and icons along the top of each column. Use them together to pack more messages onto the screen, or to open everything up for comfortable reading.

List Density

Controls the row height and font size of your folder list, message list, contacts, notes, tasks, calendar, aliases, and the Settings forms. Choose the level that suits your screen and eyesight.

Normal

The standard CodaMail spacing.

  • Generous row height.
  • Full-size list text.
  • Easiest to read and tap.
  • The default for every account.

Best For: Touchscreens, larger fonts, and comfortable everyday reading.

Cozy

A moderate tightening that keeps things comfortable.

  • Slightly reduced row spacing.
  • A touch smaller text.
  • More messages per screen.
  • Still easy on the eyes.

Best For: Users who want a bit more on screen without going fully compact.

Compact

Maximum information density for power users.

  • Tight row spacing.
  • Smaller list text.
  • The most messages per screen.
  • Applies to Settings forms too.

Best For: Large mailboxes, triage, and widescreen monitors.

Toolbar Size

Controls the size of the action buttons and icons in the header row at the top of each column. Shrink them to reclaim vertical space for your messages.

Normal

Full-size toolbar with icons and labels.

  • Large, easy-to-click buttons.
  • Icon above a text label.
  • The standard CodaMail toolbar.

Best For: Clarity and quick recognition of every action.

Cozy

A trimmer toolbar that keeps its labels.

  • Smaller icons and labels.
  • A shorter header row.
  • Reclaims some vertical space.

Best For: A slimmer look without giving up the button labels.

Compact

Slim, text-only buttons in the ribbon spirit.

  • The shortest header row.
  • Streamlined text buttons.
  • Maximum room for your message list.

Best For: Getting every possible pixel back for your email.

How to Adjust Density

  1. Log into your CodaMail account.
  2. Click Settings in the top menu.
  3. Navigate to Preferences.
  4. Select User Interface.
  5. Find the Interface skin section.
  6. Choose your preferred List density and Toolbar size from the dropdowns.
  7. Click Save to apply your changes.

Note: The two settings are independent, so you can mix and match, for example a compact list with a normal-size toolbar, to build the exact view you want.
